BOOK EDITING.
Goldenjac’s Emily Thomas was a friend and a coach before she was a client. I was new to the worlds of rock climbing and nutrition/training, and Emily’s expertise kept me informed, motived, and confident in my new hobbies. When she announced she wanted to write a book on nutrition and training related to menstrual cycles, I was thrilled to step in as the editor. I knew firsthand how valuable her guidance was.
Breaking Down Complicated Science
After Emily researched and wrote Dirty Girls Nutrition & Training, I assisted in outline and structure, suggested creating client ‘personas’ to discuss nutrition and training for various lifestyles, consulted in graphics and design, clarified scientific language for the average reader, and made edits for grammar and spelling.
The book went through two rounds of edits: one that required strategic brainstorming and structural outlines and one that called for careful line edits and attention to language use.
